BREAKING OPEN CONCRETE VILLA

The villa is located on a steep slope with stunning view over the city of Leuven. The living space on street level sits 3 meter above the garden and blocks all views. The client asked to put the kitchen and garden more central in the experience of the house. The existing concrete construction is retained and only the floors are opened. By taking only one piece of floor out, the kitchen at garden level provides a more spacious feeling, and the views on the garden are expanded. This freed up budget to design a more playful spacious interior.
