MODERN RENOVATION OF 70’s APARTMENT

By purchasing an old apartment, this couple opted for a compact form of urban living, with the overview from higher vantage point as an important quality. However, the existing layout with a day and a night zone closed off many views. We have stripped the apartment down to the bare structure. The existing logic formed the starting point for the new proposal that creates multiple views and an open circulation through the apartment. A clever design for the fixed furniture and sliding doors offers privacy where necessary. In this way, a balance is achieved between old and new, rough and finished, urban and intimate.
